*I have only enjoyed their sushi, soup and appetizer menu, not the hibachi* My husband and I really enjoy Mikado, especially its convenient location and their to-go service. The restaurant is very nicely decorating and high-class (as high-class as you get in Oak Grove KY). There is a sushi bar, a large dining room, hibachi grill room and even a small bar. They also have a separate banquet room (small). We've received decent waiter service, albeit slow. Any sushi roll, soup, dumpling, etc has been very fresh and tasty. No complaints whatsoever. The price seems a tad high.

Despite the snow and slow night the service was good. I'm not a huge hibachi style person, but the food was good. The presentation for my starts was very nice. And the environment is warm, inviting, and clean. We will for sure be coming again.

Came here for lunch before going to work for the night, and the waitress didn't ask my friend or myself if we wanted fried rice with our dinner, and the entrees came out with fried rice. When our bills came, we there was an additional charge for the fried rice. They took the charge off of mine, but they left it on my friend's bill because "he ate it." I only didn't because I wasn't impressed with their fried rice. Totally crooked way of doing business!

Sushi is great. Hibachi is unimpressive.

Very good!! First time eating here. My FH brought me here for Mother's Day and it was great. It's unfortunate that the other reviewers had mediocre experiences. We ordered the Cowboy and the Kentucky Derby sushi. Was great!! We also ordered the hibachi grill which included noodles along with the fried rice ($2 extra charge). And to top it off, they gave all the Mothers a cute little dessert. Mine was a red velvet, ice cream number with fresh whipped cream. Soooo good. We will definitely return.

Their YumYum sauce is to die for!!!!! Service not good Sushi was very good at a reasonable price Wasabi is very fresh, speed of service was decent The decor was retro and needed better lighting Worse thing was the salad bar (but the YumYum fixed it) Miso soup was salty but the mushroom soup was better Big portion on California roll My wife and I will go back because it's close to base and lunch was $30 for two which was good for a lot of food

Took my Baby Boo here for Mother's Day and was blown away by the festive atmosphere and the friendly service. Now, to the food....Sushi, Cowboy and Kentucky Derby, sensational. The Hibachi entree was served quickly and I only ate half, just so I could eat the rest at home. Very good experience and will definitely make Mikado's a regular stop.

eh, its not what I was expecting. Not all that great, but not terrible. But, it was lunch so it wasnt super pricey either. IDK how to feel about this place yet. I will go a second time and update but for now this is how I feel about it

Had a great time with my friends. Was a last minute thing. Service wasn't that good, but the cook was very entertaining!!! Kinda upset that they charge you for the fired rice. Seeing how they have that as a standard. Drinks were good. I would go back.

The waitress had no idea what anything on the menu was and she even lost our ticket, so another waitress came by and asked us what we ate. They also forgot to take the menus so they awkwardly were in our way the whole time. We waited for 30 minutes on the check. Now to the food. We had the eel and tuna sushi which was pretty good. We also ordered the lobster roll, playboy roll, spicy dragon roll. The presentation of the rolls were stunning! So colorful and plated all cutesy. I highly recommend the spicy dragon roll, really fresh tasting. The other two rolls were so bland and mediocre at best. The crunchies and the shrimp tempura tasted old and stale, both rolls were just slabbed on with some sort of mayo-like sauce. It was disappointing and the bites were outrageously huge. The sushi rice was hard and some of it felt like old stale rice. Overall we did not have a pleasant experience and def won't be coming.

A little unorganized but that should smooth out the longer they are open. We had a few different waitresses not to sure if they meant to do that. All of our food was incredible. I did expect three pieces of sashimi and got two (the paper says 3). Probably my only real complain was they seemed a bit stingy with the yum yum sauce.

The worst hibachi grill I've ever been to. I was given dirty water and a filthy plate. The waitress got upset with me when I requested a new plate. The Hibachi chef spent more time joking and talking to his co-workers than the customers. Overall I felt under appreciated.

We walked in at 11:40. Got seated immediately. It took 5 min for a waitress to even come to our table. We ordered water and food. She warned us it would be 15-20 min due to a large party being served. Ok. Understandable. 5 min later we finally got water. 10-15 min after that w finally got our soup. At the 45 min mark we left. She had walked by to check on us at the 40 min mark shocked to see we still did not have food but never bothered to come tell us why. We left. Just our experience. We will never go again.

Very pricy but food was delicious !! Sushi was fresh and tasted real good . Only thing is they don't let you share food with others at your table if you are at the grill :/ each plate is pretty expensive and gives you a good chunk of food that you most likely won't finish all by yourself , unless maybe you are extremely hungry . Got to get one plate per person . They charge the tip with your bill at the end . 18% tip !! So yeah be prepared for that .

First let me say we had a horrible experience when this restaurant first opened. Our party of four sat in the dining area, and we ordered all of our meals at the same time. I don't know why, but each plate was brought out separately. There was enough of a time lapse in between the service that by the time the fourth person in our party was served their meal, the first person to receive their meal had finished eating. Well tonight we decided to give it another try and see if they worked out the kinks....NOPE!! Yet again our party of four sat in the dining room watching the waitresses run around like Walmart employees on Black Friday without noticing our existence. After about 20 minutes someone finally took our drink orders (and no they were not busy in the dining area as there was a plethora of open tables in the dining room). Finally our waitress finally came to take our order after quite a wait. When our food was served they did improved slightly, this time only my daughters order was missing for about 30 MINUTES (10 minutes to find the waitress to ask where it was and 20 minutes for them to cook a bowl of Ramen). Then BOTH my kids sat waiting another 20 minutes for a water refill, which we only received due to flagging down another waitress. My husbands meal was also wrong, yet they tried to charge us for what he ordered, not what they brought him, even though he did not send it back because we did not feel like waiting 2 hours for them to get it right cuz lord knows they may have needed to fly to Japan to get the food he actually ordered. My husband also had to WALK to the sushi bar for chop sticks after asking for them twice AND my soup was served minus a spoon to eat it with. Maybe they eat soup with a fork in Japan, IDK. FINALLY we had to flag down the hostess for our check and to-go boxes as we had not seen our waitress for 40 minutes...despite this, all we received was a "I'm sorry" from the hostess, no check comp for my daughters EXTREMELY late meal, nor an apology from the waitress or the manager, or anything..the best thing I can say is the food is decent, but WHO KNOWS when you will get it, or if it will be what you ordered, and by the time you receive a drink refill you may be contemplating finding someone to give you an IV for dehydration. This is NOT bumps and kinks for a new restaurant, this is simple understaffing, and a lack of organization and training. However gauging our waitresses absence, they give great disappearing act training! AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A NICE NIGHT OUT!

Not so good. Have had way better elsewhere. This is our second time trying this place out. The first experience wasn't good either but we decided to give them another chance. The calamari was good. But the lobster and shrimp was super dry. I couldn't tell which was which from the taste. The vegetables tasted burnt. We informed the waitress who did nothing nor said anything abt it to the mgr or cooks like she didn't care. So we didn't tip her and we are big tippers. I will stick to Sakura!!!!

I am shocked to see the rating not good. This restaurant is the best Japanese in the area with reasonable prices, I have been twice and if we weren't leaving I would be there almost every week. My fav on the menu, avocado salad very cheap and delicious, the spicy tuna roll is the best of you like row, Kentucky derby is good for cooked, the aki sansai the marinated squid is to die for. The service is good and if the waiters don't know what's on the menu remember that they can't memorize everything in a month or so, so be patient.

We will never go back. We went on Valentine's Day with our family (5 adult couples) and the servers were very rude to everyone. They make it seem like they are joking but their comments were very unprofessional and uncalled for. At the end of the hibachi, they literally told us we had to leave because other people were waiting to be seated. I understand that they were busy but they were very rude in their phrasing. The hibachi was fine, nothing new or original. The food (hibachi and sushi) was decent and the drinks were strong. They tried to make it seem like a Valentine's Day treat that we were getting two pieces of shrimp with dinner when it is listed on their menu. They tried to charge us far more than for what we ordered. When we brought it to their attention, they fixed it, apologizing. It may have been an accident. But I was not impressed with their customer service. My advice, if you drink there, keep a close eye on your check. I do not recommend Mikados. There is better food out there along with far better customer service.

Pretty good Japanese restaurant. I went with a group of friends and we decided to do the hibachi option, where your food is prepared in front of you. There was two separate dining areas. One for the hibachi option and one for regular dining. They also had a sushi bar. The hibachi dinner came with rice, fried or white, vegetables, lo mein, and your choice of meat. Filet, chicken, or shrimp. You could also get the combos, like chicken and shrimp which is what I had. Meal also comes with soup and salad. The soup and salad came out first. Once you were done with that, the chef came out and started to get the food ready to cook. He started with the fried rice and the vegetables. Cool part when he was cooking some onions, he kind of did a volcano. He stacked some pre sliced onions to look like a volcano and lit it with some oil. Great for the kids. He also cooked the lo mein in front of us. Plenty of food, as the portions were huge. I had to take a doggie bag. Plenty of parking there as well. I went on a Friday night around 6 pm. It was pretty busy already and looked like it was gettting busier when we left.

The best of Clarksville/ Oak Grove. We went here on a whim for a Sunday afternoon lunch. We got the crazy boy and play boy sushi and they were delicious and fresh. We had hibachi but not at the grill and it was also very good. It was reasonably priced for sushi and hibachi. The steak and shrimp lunch was $15.95, I believe. I also have to mention their soup was delicious! We will be coming back for sure.

I love coming here for lunch with my friends. I usually get the playboy and crazy girl rolls. My friend and son both love the shrimp fried rice. Great deals.. Great service. Whether you sit of the grill side or at a table.. Both come out tasting amazing.

Went on Valentine's Day then again today and this is hands down the best hibachi/sushi restaurant in town! I was a loyal Fujiyama sushi fan but Mikado is just as good if not better and so much cheaper ! We had the Fuji Mountain roll, super crunch roll, lobster roll and the play girl roll! Everything was fresh and flavorful. Highly recommended!!

We had dinner here on a Sunday. Off the bat, it was discouraging to see that I would be charged an additional $2 if I wanted fried rice, which is a standard menu item and most hibatchi grills in the area. Secondly, the portions are a lot smaller than the other restaurants. My husband typically cannot finish his entire meal but finished his instantly even after having ate throughout today. Thirdly, the waitress offered the other children at the table a mint or candy of some sort yet didn't offer my children any. My children didn't even misbehave or act foolishly so either she forgot or just didn't care. Our "chef" barely interacted with the table despite the fact that it was completely full and had 5 children sitting at it. The menu also states that you are not allowed to share your food. I'm gonna hope that means no splitting a plate because if i feel like giving my husband or children something off my plate, vice versa, I'm gonna do it. Overall, I am disappointed that we decided to try this place and skipped out on our usual Japanese spot. If you want quality, quantity, fried rice included (spicy rice at no charge) and a chef that interacts with you, I'd recommend Sakura.
